I am Anita Wheeler, a Restorative Justice Facilitator with The West Midlands RJ Service.
I joined West Midlands police as a PCSO in 2005, becoming a Police Constable in 2006. I initially became involved with Restorative Justice early in my Policing Career and have used restorative processes throughout my Police service, initially delivering my work on the North area of Birmingham. Since joining this team in summer 2015 the majority of my work is delivered on the North and East areas of Birmingham.
The role of a Restorative Justice Facilitator is extremely rewarding. The conferences bring closure to participants with cases ranging from anti-social behaviour, neighbour disputes and victims of crime. Empowering those affected by incidents and behaviours, enabling them to move forward via achieved mutual outcomes between all involved.
