I am Annie Yorke and have worked for the BRJS since October 2016. I am a Restorative Justice Facilitator covering the East side of Birmingham. I have served as a Police Officer for West Midlands Police for over 10 years with the majority of my service on Neighbourhood Policing. I have witnessed first-hand how a simple problem can escalate, resulting in an impossible and apparently unsolvable situation. This can cause a huge amount of stress for all those involved and make people’s lives unbearable.
I trained as a Level 2 RJ facilitator several years ago whilst on Neighbourhood Policing and thrived on helping victims to overcome and ultimately resolve their issues. I utterly believe in the principles of restorative work and the fantastic results that can be achieved. I am passionate about RJ and I feel very privileged to be in a position where I can empower our communities to heal the harm that has been caused and to move forward, living happier and more peaceful lives.
