What is Restorative Justice?

‘Restorative justice brings those harmed by crime or conflict and those responsible for the harm into communication, enabling everyone affected by a particular incident to play a part in repairing the harm and finding a positive way forward.’
Restorative Justice Council 2017

A Bit of Background

Restorative Justice gives those who have been affected by anti-social behaviour or crime the opportunity to explain how they have been affected to the person who has caused the harm, and have a voice in deciding on how that harm may be repaired.

How we can
Help you

A Restorative Justice co-ordinator will always be assigned to the case to guide the customer through the process and explain clearly how we can help. They work alongside the police, local authority or housing provider and will be with the customer every step of the way.

How does
the System
Work?

Once a referral is made to the Restorative Justice team from the police, registered provider or local authority, a trained and skilled RJ co-ordinator will contact the customer to have an initial conversation about how Restorative Justice could help.
